My thoughts on Jesus and feminism Pt 2

Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
Matt 19: 8

To understand the perfect will of God, we must start at the beginning and interpret God’s will for mankind as contained in any scripture as it relates to the beginning. For it to be truth, it must agree with the beginning.

Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
Genesis 2: 7, 18 - 25

  • The term helper is not the same as slave or lesser creation, it is what it is helper; partner, team mate.
  • We see from Gen 1: 26 - 28 that it is an equal partnership.
  • Eve was made as a suitable helper, a partner fitting for Adam, meaning one comparable to Adam. One fitting in mental, physical and spiritual capacity for Adam.
  • God made Eve from the body of Adam doesn’t mean the woman or is inferior to Adam, it is in the nature of God to make out of what he has already made.
  • Adam acknowledged the equality of the woman saying “this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”. MEANING SHE’S JUST LIKE ME.
